With a need to address issues of weathertightness on the exterior of this home in Bucklands Beach, the opportunity was taken to improve the existing floor plan and give both the internal and external spaces a modern upgrade.
Externally, the roof, cladding and joinery was replaced with low maintenance materials that would provide a watertight solution. Stained cedar cladding was installed, and a shingle roof now crowns the spacious family home, protecting it from the elements.
Over the rear deck, timber battens extend the form of the roof, adding a striking architectural feature that creates filtered shade to the space that looks out towards the water. New windows maximise sea views, and an ensuite bathroom and deck were added to the master bedroom.
